It's My Time: To Find The Best Of Me: Patience Is A Virtue: Wait For Your ADAM
This is a copied post from my girl Chanae's blog (mylifemysweetescape.blogspot.com). I absolutely LOVED THIS POEM! I think EVERY female should hear this & I KNOW that EVERY female will get something out of it! Be patient ladies, wait for your Adam. It is SO much better to be with no one than the wrong one. Check out both this video and Chanae's blog mylifemysweetescape.blogspot.com ... Xoxo! :

No, I'm not Lucky. I'm BLESSED!
It has been TOO long since I last did a post!...But it has been time well spent! I'm so happy with where I'm at right now and I know that if I stay focused things will only get better. What I have come to realize is that the excitement that drags behind hoping for the things you desire to have in life is a complete knock-off of the authentic joy & fulfillment that you attain when you actually manage to set out and acquire those goals, relationships, and experiences. It is THEE best feeling in the world, and if THIS is the BEGINNING than I can only imagine the places I'm going to go, the things I'm going to do, the love that God's preparing, and the laughs that I'll have along the way. ..I know there will be some downs here and there, BUT "my good days ALWAYS outweigh my bad days, so I won't complain." :-)

You Make My Heart Melt...
My name is LaDeidre, and I am a candle addict ☹.
I am overly obsessed with CANDLES & and my choice of words "overly obsessed" is not an exaggeration. My obsession is to the point that I have to "literally" talk myself out of going near or into store aisles that contain candles. If I go down that aisle or into that candle store I am like a kid in a candy shop, zoooooned ooooout. I will want to touch, smell, and own everything...and If you let me, I WILL. :-)
.....Why is this relevant? Because for the first time in 'all of ever' I know what I want for Valentine's Day.
A box, a regular big brown box, mailed to me FULL of candles (GOOD SMELLING candles), stuffed with purple & white tissue paper, & wrapped in, or topped off with a purple bow = MY perfect Valentine's Gift.
*FYI:This is not an advertisement....
I'm doing this post to simply advise & remind people about the importance of PAYING ATTENTION.
If you have someone in your life whom you sincerely admire than let it be known. Valentine's Day is coming up and I strongly encourage everyone to stay away from the typical stuffed bear & Hallmark card (chocolate is always a good thing so that definitely remains acceptable). But overall, put your own spin on things. Really think about what it is your Valentine enjoys, loves, & is constantly talking about and then take 'the time & effort' to show that he/she is worth 'time & effort'. Everyone is different and has their own "thing" and one of my many "things" happens to be candles.
What's His? What's Hers? Think about it.
Xoxo♥ HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ♥Xoxo

The Art of Giving
"When You Get, GIVE. When You Learn, TEACH. -Maya Angelou
Recently my roomies and I were sitting in our living room discussing frivolous matters. Out of nowhere I turned the conversation around & heightened the seriousness of discussion when I mentioned that lately my heart has been heavy because of this urge I haven't dealt with ---an urge to give back to the community. I didn't think that bringing up my desire to give and/or do something for the community was going to get the reaction that it did. Theeey weeere... PUMPED! lol. Everyone in the room got excited and started expressing how they too have the desire and interest to give back. With that being said we all started doing our research on volunteer opportunities in the community, and today I am MORE than glad to say that since then we have each found an organization of our individual interest. Each of us have spoken with the organization of our choice and have set up time frames that allow us to be fully committed volunteers weekly. It is BEYOND a blessing to be around nonetheless LIVE with people who get excited for you & encourage you to set out and do what it is you want to do.. but it is an even GREATER FEELING when those people join you on the ride and share the experience with you.

'Ear'responsible
I RESPECT ARTISTS! ...whether a painter, musician, designer, or whatever. In a broad sense people that invest their time, talent, skill, and energy into creating a product that expressively communicates their passion and/or vision are considered *ARTISTS* and the reason I RESPECT ARTISTS is because artists do what everyone else hopes & dreams to do...They make their vision a reality.
I have a trustworthy ear, I'm (ear)RESPONSIBLE. I can easily distinguish BS from BRILLIANCY!
These AMAZING artists are getting a lot of attention for what they are contributing to the music world. Their works convey both intellect & talent and each of them are rapidly moving to the top with no sign of slowing down.

Master Class: Born with A Blank Canvas & Creating a Masterpiece
Everyone has a story. ... and by "everyone" I mean everyone.
There are few things that really exasperate me and extinguish my desire to want relationships of any sort with certain people. When it comes down to the terms 'reason' & 'excuse' I strongly believe that there is a significant difference between the two. When I see someone with a vision & immense potential doing nothing except letting time fly, possibility weaken, and their vision fade away because of their unwillingness to face forward & stop looking back on past sufferings --it irritates me. All of us, everyone...has a past. We all endure suffering...heartache, pain, loss, struggles, etc. What it comes down to is you facing those past 'hurts'. If you continue to run from them, they will chase you... your past will chase you into the opposite direction of your destiny and lead you to your grave with no remorse, but with plenty of regrets. I understand that past experiences drastically influence our state of mind, but no matter how intense your past.. you have to find a way to confront it, manage it, and use it. There are only two options for how you can use your past and that's either as an 'excuse' or as a 'reason'. You must decide whether or not your story becomes the reason you strive to become a better person or an excuse for your "inability" to fulfill your purpose.
I love, LoVe, LOVE this series of OWN's Master Class, not because it features one of my favorite women, Maya Angelou, whose work I respect and admire like no other. ..But I love this series so much because it truly exemplifies the fact that EVERYONE has a story.
"Belief in one's self and knowing who you are, that's the foundation of everything great." -Jay Z

Capture, Embrace, & Appreciate LIFE!

Capture, Embrace, & Appreciate LIFE!
This month I am beginning my venture into the world of photography. At first I had doubts that I would have any real interest in learning about photography, even after investing in a camera I still felt uninterested and annoyed with the fact that I was going to be lectured on how to take a picture. However, the moment I sat down with a professional photographer and he began explaining the different functions and techniques of my camera & photography I ended up having the hardest time putting my camera down. I have always been that annoying relative/friend that has a camera handy no matter the situation or setting ready to snap a "Kodak moment", but what I didn't notice until now is that though those quote on quote "Kodak" moments (which were captured with a stylish 10.3 megapixel digital camera) produced appealing photographs... My new investment, this old school 50mm SLR camera has the ability to do what my digital can't, and that is produce both a beautiful scene and an artist. In order to produce an effective and appealing photograph with these types of cameras both skill & technique are required. When I got behind the camera and witnessed my lens reflecting the beauty that depth, focus, and light can have on a scene I became obsessed with analyzing the variety of differences that could be made to a scene and/or figure using the skills and techniques of photography. There is so much good/bad, happiness/sorrow, love/hurt, beauty & grotesque in this world and either way whether it is behind the lens or through life experiences that I capture them I will embrace & appreciate them all because I KNOW that they will ultimately produce a better and/or the best me.... and me being MY BEST is indeed a beautiful sight to see. ☺

My ♥ Bleeds Nike

Visual & Marketing Communications is a field in which I intend to establish a successful & long-lasting career in; because I am so passionate about the creativeness, simplicity, & success of ads & marketing I can not explain in words how much I admire the creative minds behind Nike. The creative team behind the Nike brand never seems to fail providing the public with visually enticing, effective, yet simple marketing. I give two thumbs up & a round of applause to the marketing and design team that is behind the scenes.
